Fort Worth盆地位于美國得克薩斯州中北部,面積約38100km2,為古生代晚期Ouachita造山運動形成的前陸盆地。其最大沉積厚度3660m,地層自下而上依次為前寒武系、寒武系、奧陶系、石炭系、二疊系和白堊系(圖1),其中下石炭統(tǒng)Barnett頁巖上覆上石炭統(tǒng)Marble Falls石灰?guī)r,下伏奧陶系Viola石灰?guī)r。在盆地的東北部,Barnett頁巖由Forestburg石灰?guī)r分隔為上、下兩部分[2]。Barnett頁巖頂面構造為一單斜,氣藏不受構造控制,面積約15500km2,埋深大于1850m,可采資源量2.66×1012m3(USGS,2008)。氣田可分為兩個區(qū):①核心區(qū),Barnett頁巖下部發(fā)育Viola石灰?guī)r;②外圍區(qū),缺失Viola石灰?guī)r,Barnett頁巖直接與飽含水的下奧陶統(tǒng)Ellenburger組石灰?guī)r接觸。核心區(qū)頁巖厚度大于107m,外圍區(qū)頁巖厚度大于30m[3](圖2)。
